Dad's Birthday Invite

My sister, mom, and I are hosting a "surprise" party for my Dad's 60th Birthday tomorrow. I say "surprise" because there is no such thing as a surprise with my dad. Even if we tried to do anything remotely surprising for him, he would smell a rat and guess it before it even happened. So we told hiim we were throwing him a party, but that was all we told him. :) I was tasked (okay, I volunteered!) to make his party invites.

My dad loves the outdoors and spends many nights camping on his land and out in the woods hiking and such. That's why I selected the ever true "Lovely as a Tree" stamp set that has surely stood the test of time on its availability over the years. ha ha I used a sponge to add some color to the branches and grass. You can look closer to see the VersaMark stamped leaves to create a background.

Mini Calendar-December

This is the last month featured in the "Mini Calendar" series...hope you have enjoyed the layouts that I have shared with you the last two weeks. It's not too late to order and create your own "Days To Remember" calendar. The great thing about this calendar is that you can tear the layouts out (they are perforated) at the end of the year and have a mini scrapbook already complete!

The December layout was created using this card for my inspiration. It features that delicious Red Glimmer Paper, which you can now purchase from our current Occasions Mini Catalog!

For other months featured in this calendar, type in "calendar" in my search bar. Looking for a specific month? Type the month name!

Boughs of Holly

This card is a CASE of this one...when I first saw it, I knew immediately that I wanted to try my hand at it because it is simply stunning!

The ornament was made using the ornament punch through the Crumb Cake card stock. Then place a piece of the Designer Fabric behind it using plenty of Sticky Strip to hold it in place. Add a cotton ball to make the ornament "poof" through the punched ornament hole, use more sticky strip to hold the layer of card stock on behind it and viola! You have a gorgeous card! The branch is one of the trees from "Lovely as a Tree." You can't go wrong with this stamp set.

Try it--you'll be surprised how easy this card is!

Cool Winter Evening

Things are blazing hot in Tulsa right now, so I created a cool, winter card to cool things off. I used the 1-3/4" circle punch and the reverse masking technique to create a soft moon behind the tree. To add a glaze of shimmer, I traced the edge of the moon and the grass line with the 2-way glue pen and sprinkled it with Dazzling Diamonds.
