Challenge Week

I was reviewing some of the resource tutorials on Splitcoaststampers this week, and decided to try one that I have had my eye on for quite some time: the crimped envelope pocket card. I really had fun making this card set, again using two of my favorite stamp sets: the "Medallion" and "Friends 24-7."

Mojo Monday Challenge 113

Here's the challenge sketch, and my interpretation of the sketch below. I just love this "Friends 24-7" stamp set. It is one of my favorites. Funny, because I waited a long time debating whether or not to even get it. :)

Hotel Carpet Challenge

When I went to Convention in August, my roommates told me about a challenge that they had started last year: to make a card using the colors in the carpet of a facility--for them it was a restaurant (they said it was a hideous color combo). So we all had talked about doing the carpet challenge using the colors of the Salt Lake Convention Center carpet. For one reason or another, we never finished the challenge.

I really liked the idea, and with as much travel as I do with my (full-time) job, I thought it would be a wonderful challenge to start for all of the travel venues I use moving forward! One of the girls in my monthly club was with me on my most recent trip to Houston and we decided to take the challenge using only the colors in the carpet at the Hilton Americas Hotel in downtown Houston. If I'd been thinking, I would have taken a picture of the carpet to post so you could see where the inspiration came from, but I didn't. I will try to start doing that.

The Hotel Carpet Color Challenge included the following colors:
Taken With Teal
Chocolate Chip
Very Vanilla
Dusty Durango
Ruby Red
Old Olive

Here are the cards that we did. Mine is the first and hers is the second. We had so much fun doing these!!

October Hostess Gift

Here's the latest Milk Carton gift that I made for my October club hostess. Instead of a Halloween theme, I decided to just do pumpkins for fall using the "Pumpkin Patch" stamp set from the Holiday Mini Catty. :)

Halloween goodies

These are little treat boxes that I gave to my club members this month. Super easy when you have Stampin' Up's Big Shot. The pumpkins are made from punches. I made about 10 of these in about 30-45 mins.
